Transform Your Career Path at IE Summer School

There’s a specific kind of momentum that only happens in summer: the time to step back, reassess and make decisions with more clarity than you can during a packed academic year. Now picture doing that in Madrid, inside an international classroom, surrounded by ambitious peers, guided by faculty who teach through practice, debate and real-world problem solving. That’s the purpose of IE University’s Summer School.

For university students, recent graduates, and early-career professionals, the question is rarely “What can I learn?”. It’s “What should I do next, and how do I get there faster?” The IE University Summer Program is built for exactly that moment. Based in Madrid, it’s an immersive two-week experience designed to sharpen your profile, expand your perspective, and help you test academic and professional directions before you commit to a master’s degree or a career path.

A two-week program with real-world intensity

The University Summer Program is designed for participants 18+, with a typical audience of undergraduates and recent graduates (often 18–26) who want a rigorous, university-level learning experience in a fast-paced format. Days are built around active learning and applied challenges rather than passive listening, so you leave with progress you can point to, not just notes you’ve taken. And because the program sits in the middle of Madrid’s energy, learning doesn’t end when class does. Evenings become part of the experience: connecting with peers, exploring the city, and building relationships that often outlast the summer itself.

Explore fields. Build a sharper profile. Gain direction.

IE’s summer portfolio is intentionally multidisciplinary. Many participants use the program to confirm a direction (or rule one out) before investing in a postgraduate degree. Depending on the modules you choose, your experience may touch areas such as business and management, technology, design, communication, and global/international perspectives.

The focus is also on a modular approach that fits the reality of postgraduate decision-making. If you’re weighing a master’s, you can use the summer to pressure-test your interests. If you’re preparing for job applications, you can focus on skill-building and evidence-based experiences that strengthen your CV.

Remember that IE’s University Summer Program offers a certificate route: if you opt into an additional academic deliverable for a two-week module, you can receive a Certificate of Achievement indicating an academic workload equivalent to 3 ECTS credits (with 6 ECTS for two modules and 9 ECTS for three).

Your next step doesn’t have to wait until “after graduation”

If you’re at the point where you want to move from uncertainty to direction, whether you’re planning a postgraduate degree, building your professional profile, or exploring a pivot, IE Summer School gives you an intensive, international environment to make that shift happen faster.

Two weeks in Madrid can change how you think, how you communicate and what you choose next.
